Tales Vianna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Douglas Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. When Douglas Pereira, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 81 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Zé Augusto Paraibano was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. During the 82nd minute of the match Júlio Barreto completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Júlio Barreto a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 84 played minutes Maricoabo got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Barreto. Tiaguinho Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Zé Augusto Paraibano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Cabaca could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Maricoabo throughout the match.
