Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Teresina FC booed when Imbu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Imbu AD's zone, Róbson Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaká Rosado came out of the goal and Róbson Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Róbson Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Rosado having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Murilo do Vale during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Murilo do Vale hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Elano Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Mendes having to interfere. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Teresina FC's goalkeeper Maurício Mendes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Imbu AD's Kaká Rosado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Imbu AD from getting a goal against them. After 32 played minutes Teresina FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Albuquerque. After having played for 35 minutes, Róbson Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teresina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Róbson Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maurício Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Maurício Mendes came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Imbu AD's Elano Mangueira. But to his dismay, Elano Mangueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Kaká Rosado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Róbson Sá in the 45th minute. After having played for 47 minutes, Nuno Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Imbu AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Travassos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Travassos to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Teresina FC's Eriberto Marinho got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nuno Travassos in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurício Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 61 minutes into the match, Imbu AD's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson Sá came free, but Kaká Rosado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Teresina FC's Benjamim Valadares got a free kick in the 70th minute. Imbu AD's Kaká Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Vasconcelos in the 74th minute of play. If Róbson Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The Imbu AD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Imbu AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
