Simão Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Róbson Sá in the 4th minute of play. In the 11th match minute, Caratateua SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Meireles to maneuver through the defense. Guilherme Bezerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maurício Mendes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute, one of Teresina FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Teresina FC. Guilherme Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Maurício Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Maurício Mendes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hélder Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Maurício Mendes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zé Carlos Trancoso went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Zé Carlos Trancoso in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Maurício Mendes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 38th minute, Zé Carlos Trancoso made a precise shot to the right of Maurício Mendes. Teresina FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. After having played for 44 minutes, Róbson Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teresina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Róbson Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Róbson Sá stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ismael Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guilherme Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 played minutes Teresina FC got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Bittencourt. In a very dangerous position, a player in Teresina FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! Maurício Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Trancoso in the 66th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Teresina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guilherme Bezerra came free, but Maurício Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zé Carlos Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilherme Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Carlos Trancoso took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maurício Mendes. Maurício Mendes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. Wilton Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurício Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guilherme Bezerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Guilherme Bezerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maurício Mendes having to make a save. Guilherme Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teresina FC's Maurício Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guilherme Bezerra in the 97th minute of play.
