Lourenco EC's Tomé Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Sanches in the 19th minute of play. Adelino Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Amaral having to interfere. Adelino Sanches struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Tomé Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coritiba FC. If Virgílio Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 minutes, Gilmar Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coritiba FC and the Lourenco EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Coritiba FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Gilmar Cruz hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Maurício Pereira made the kick off in the second half. Virgílio Alves struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Tomé Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coritiba FC. Coritiba FC's Gilmar Cruz got his second yellow card of the match in the 53rd minute. The referee ordered Gilmar Cruz off the ground. Virgílio Alves's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tomé Amaral firmly grabbed it by the left post. Virgílio Alves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Tomé Amaral made a huge save. Virgílio Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomé Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Virgílio Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomé Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Virgílio Alves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Coritiba FC's Benjamin Pitta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomé Amaral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Fernando Paes in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tomé Amaral, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Virgílio Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Amaral having to interfere. Jeferson Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
