Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Chicão Sá started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Wanderson Viana came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Picos EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wanderson Viana couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernão de Andrade during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Picos EC's Fernão de Andrade got a free kick in the 6th minute. Josefina's Dadá Pinho couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 7th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Picos EC. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Chicão Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Picos EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chicão Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelson Lima breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Picos EC's Tarcisio Messias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Picos EC from getting a goal against them. Josefina's attack was well implemented in the 18th minute, but when William Carvalho was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After a rather tough play, Josefina's Marquinhos Recife got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Wanderson Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tarcisio Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Lara in the 31st minute of the match. Valdemar Macedo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of Picos EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Josefina:s goal. Dadá Pinho shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Dé Viana hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After having played for 44 minutes, William Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Josefina's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tarcisio Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sérgio Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chicão Sá in the 53rd minute of play forced Josefina's goalkeeper Nelson Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Josefina's Jorginho Furtado got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 59th match minute, Picos EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sérgio Lara in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tarcisio Messias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thomás Negri charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomás Negri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Josefina fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! Sérgio Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Tarcisio Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the game, William Carvalho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Tarcisio Messias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 91 minutes, Sérgio Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Josefina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sérgio Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Chicão Sá got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chicão Sá struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Nelson Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Picos EC. The Picos EC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Josefina from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
