Samuel Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Duarte Neiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Samuel Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte Neiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuel Simão's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Duarte Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmo de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Pedro Damião was a little too slow when Manfredo Moreira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. Duarte Neiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuel Simão's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cochilha SS's goalkeeper Duarte Neiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgílio Fantini during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, Cochilha SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Fantini to maneuver through the defense. Dalmo de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee ignored Amarantina EC's protests and gave Adilson Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes Amarantina EC got a freekick which was hit by Adilson Sergipano. In the 41st minute, Alberto Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Manfredo Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dalmo de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manfredo Moreira to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Cochilha SS defense, Dalmo de Alcântara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Duarte Neiva. The Cochilha SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duarte Neiva should have stopped the shot. When Adilson Sergipano was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 58 minutes had been played. In the 59th match minute, Amarantina EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adilson Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Moreira in the 62nd minute of play forced Amarantina EC's goalkeeper José Pedro Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duarte Neiva made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Dalmo de Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. When Téo Barros came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Amarantina EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Téo Barros couldn't finish the play. Dalmo de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cochilha SS's Duarte Neiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Cochilha SS from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manfredo Moreira during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cochilha SS getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Manfredo Moreira hit a great ball. Dalmo de Alcântara received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Duarte Neiva came out and tried to block the shot, but Dalmo de Alcântara slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 77th minute. Amarantina EC's José Pedro Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Moreira in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Amarantina EC's goalkeeper José Pedro Damião, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manfredo Moreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute, Dalmo de Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Samuel Simão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Duarte Neiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amarantina EC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
