After 2 minutes, Téo Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amarantina EC and the Canal EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Téo Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Amarantina EC's Oswaldo Fernandez got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Amarantina EC's goalkeeper José Pedro Damião, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Pedro Damião showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egídio Torres in the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Samuel Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th play minute Oswaldo Fernandez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Inácio Vieira. 1-0. If Dalmo de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th match minute, Canal EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doni Marinho to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Dalmo de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amarantina EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmo de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Inácio Vieira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute Dalmo de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmo de Alcântara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Inácio Vieira having to make a save. Oswaldo Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th match minute, Canal EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josué de Senna to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Oswaldo Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amarantina EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oswaldo Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Inácio Vieira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dalmo de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The wind increased when Dalmo de Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Oswaldo Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amarantina EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oswaldo Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Inácio Vieira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dalmo de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 58 played minutes Canal EC got a freekick which was hit by Manolo Ceresso. Dalmo de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Inácio Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Fellipe Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canal EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Amarantina EC the free kick. Inácio Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oswaldo Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute Oswaldo Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inácio Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmo de Alcântara in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Canal EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manolo Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Amarantina EC booed when Canal EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manolo Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 played minutes, Amarantina EC's Jarbas Pombal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Inácio Vieira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Amarantina EC reached it. In the 85th minute, César Cunha sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Amarantina EC's José Pedro Damião didn't even have to move. Inácio Vieira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalmo de Alcântara's shot from short distance in the 91st minute.
