Luís Eduardo Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Rossi having to interfere. Gino Mendes came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Penamar's Murillo Matorin. But to his dismay, Murillo Matorin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If João Carlos Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murillo Matorin struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Gino Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penamar. A collision led to Marapicu getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Alberto Rezende hit a great ball. Murillo Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Marapicu's Afonso Castro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Afonso Castro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Marapicu protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Afonso Castro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Penamar a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luís Fábio Sá, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Marapicu's Gino Mendes. 0-2. The supporters of Penamar booed when Marapicu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauan Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Fábio Sá was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 34th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nando Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Murillo Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Penamar's supporters rose to their feet, but Murillo Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gino Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gino Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Marapicu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Penamar were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Eduardo Gaúcho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marapicu's Gino Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo José Machado in the 54th minute of play. Paulo José Machados short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Gino Mendes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Marapicu's goalkeeper Gino Mendes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Murillo Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Penamar's supporters rose to their feet, but Murillo Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gino Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Marapicu booed when Penamar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Rossi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Eduardo Gaúcho's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. When Penamar's Paulo José Machado in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marapicu's goalie prevented a goal. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Penamar's goalkeeper Tony Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd match minute, Penamar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerson Paraense to maneuver through the defense. After 94 played minutes Marapicu got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Paraíba. The Marapicu supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Penamar's performance. The match ended with a win for Penamar.
