Arrebol SS's Mário Trancoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Reis in the 7th minute of play. Téo Silva's late challenge caught a Arrebol SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Téo Silva helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Arrebol SS booed when Pontais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eusébio Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Salles in the 14th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronaldinho da Mata during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Márcio Varelas short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Edson Montenegro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pontais's Artur Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gil de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Trancoso having to interfere. The supporters of Arrebol SS booed when Pontais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute, Gil de Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mário Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil de Lara in the 33rd minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Arrebol SS's Eusébio Salles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edson Montenegro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Edson Montenegro came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Arrebol SS's Márcio Varela. But to his dismay, Márcio Varela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Eusébio Salles made the kick off in the second half. Edson Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Salles in the 52nd minute of the match. Márcio Varela struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Edson Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arrebol SS. Diamantino Zonta hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Gil de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pontais's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Trancoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gil de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Eusébio Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Márcio Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Edson Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eusébio Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Salles succeeded in the game's 80th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. Gil de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artur Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Mário Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Arrebol SS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pontais had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
