The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Cássio Paraibano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catesporo AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Reginaldo Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Paraibano in the 12th minute of the match. In the 17th match minute, Catesporo AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Acácio Moreira to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Armindo Catarinense made a precise shot to the right of César Meirelles. Catesporo AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Armindo Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Meirelles having to interfere. Jairo Tepedino might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reginaldo Lira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jairo Tepedino ran back to his position shaking his head. Gonçalo Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 31 played minutes Juazeirinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Tião Gaspar. Reginaldo Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, Juazeirinho EC's Fabiano Matos got a free kick in the 32nd minute. João Vítor Paranaense's late challenge caught a Juazeirinho EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Vítor Paranaense helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Catesporo AD's João Vítor Paranaense got a free kick in the 35th minute. Reginaldo Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jairo Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tibúrcio Baiano tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Reginaldo Lira. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 43rd minute. Gonçalo Luz charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gonçalo Luz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th minute, Gonçalo Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arí Soeiro to make the kick off. Reginaldo Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jairo Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reginaldo Lira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cássio Paraibano in the 61st minute. Cássio Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Lira having to interfere. Reginaldo Lira made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Cássio Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. Samuel Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Juazeirinho EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Jairo Tepedino scored to the left of an out of position Reginaldo Lira, making the score, 1-3. Juazeirinho EC's Arí Soeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 82 played minutes Catesporo AD got a freekick which was hit by João Vítor Paranaense. Reginaldo Lira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cássio Paraibano in the 86th minute. When Samuel Reis fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juazeirinho EC's protests and gave Samuel Reis a yellow card for diving instead. 88 minutes into the game, one of Juazeirinho EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 93rd minute Jairo Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginaldo Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Juazeirinho EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Catesporo AD were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
