A collision led to Paineiras getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Dudu Dantas hit a great ball. Dagoberto Sá was a little too slow when Manoel Diniz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. With a little luck, Paineiras's Dagoberto Sá got control of the ball when Adolfo Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dagoberto Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Diniz in the 10th minute of the match. If Eriberto Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Eriberto Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavadeira SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eriberto Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dagoberto Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute Moisés Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Mumbach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paineiras's goalkeeper Dagoberto Sá, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30th match minute, Lavadeira SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Gerber to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Afonsinho Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paineiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonsinho Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michel Mumbach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Manoel Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moisés Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Perez in the 52nd minute of play forced Paineiras's goalkeeper Dagoberto Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manoel Diniz took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dagoberto Sá. Dagoberto Sá dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If Afonsinho Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Paineiras's Nelsinho Maia got a free kick in the 61st minute. 64 minutes into the match, Paineiras's Moisés Fonseca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michel Mumbach narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Paineiras's goal looked a bit too open when Manoel Diniz came free, but Dagoberto Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Paineiras's Michel Mumbach threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Moisés Fonseca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Manoel Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Lavadeira SC's zone, Afonsinho Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel Mumbach came out of the goal and Afonsinho Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adolfo Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. If Moisés Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michel Mumbach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moisés Fonseca in the 86th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moisés Fonseca in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michel Mumbach saved Lavadeira SC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Fonseca in the 94th minute of play forced Lavadeira SC's goalkeeper Michel Mumbach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
