Romeu Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romeu Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Indubrasil SC booed when Castilho EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeu Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Indubrasil SC's Beto Vale broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Luís Paulo Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeu Moura was shown his second yellow card after 21 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Edmundo Loyola scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Quaresma, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luís Paulo Toscano charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Paulo Toscano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luís Paulo Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of Castilho EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Indubrasil SC:s goal. Edmundo Loyola struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Paulo Quaresma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Indubrasil SC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emanuel Pernambucano during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 49th minute, one of Castilho EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Castilho EC. The referee gave Indubrasil SC a penalty, 52 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Beto Vale, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Castilho EC's Paulo Quaresma. 0-3. After the first half Indubrasil SC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Paulo Toscano to make the kick off. Armando Alvarenga took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Quaresma. Paulo Quaresma dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 63 minutes into the match, Castilho EC's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Alvarenga came free, but Paulo Quaresma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anísio Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Loyola got free with Paulo Quaresma in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paulo Quaresma made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Edmundo Loyola sent off a good shot on target.
