Palmorindo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Eurico Fantini scored to the left of an out of position Evandro Correia, making the score, 1-0. Tapira's Waldemar Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elano de Almeida in the 7th minute of play. Evandro Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Dário Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Tapira's Eurico Fantini dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel da Fonseca during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes Palmorindo got a freekick which was hit by Daniel da Fonseca. Eurico Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Evandro Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Palmorindo fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Palmorindo's Elano de Almeida looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Tapira defense, Walmyr Abreu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldemar Gaspar. The Tapira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldemar Gaspar should have stopped the shot. 31 minutes into the game, Augusto Severo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmorindo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tapira the free kick. The supporters of Tapira booed when Palmorindo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dário Cavalcante who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Evandro Correia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Tapira's Benedito Messias got a free kick in the 45th minute. After 48 minutes of play Palmorindo's Daniel da Fonseca was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Tapira booed when Palmorindo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Tapira players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Palmorindo were winning 2-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eurico Fantini made a kick off. Evandro Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Fantini in the 59th minute of play. Henrique Vargas charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henrique Vargas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Tapira's Eurico Fantini in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palmorindo's goalie prevented a goal. Dário Cavalcante ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 75th match minute, Palmorindo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Henrique Vargas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldemar Gaspar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Tapira's Waldemar Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Tapira from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Elano de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmorindo's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano de Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldemar Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
