Tales Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sílvio Luís Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Juan Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Sapicoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fernando Vieira to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the game, Eliézer Esteves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sapicoa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maratoneiro the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sapicoa's Eliézer Esteves got a free kick in the 13th minute. Tales Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Dantas having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tales Santos in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Dantas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 31 minutes of play, Sapicoa's José Maria Eger made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sérgio Paulista was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 34 minutes, Tales Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maratoneiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tales Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luisão Trigo hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the game, Cauan Gonçalves recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Juan Dantas. Cauan Gonçalves showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Sílvio Luís Félix blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juan Dantas having to make a save.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliézer Esteves was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Sapicoa defense, Tales Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Dantas. The Sapicoa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Dantas should have stopped the shot. If Tales Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
