Silvério Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kléber Rocha in the 11th minute of the match. If Reinaldo Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Kléber Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Itajahy SC's Kléber Rocha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silvério Ortiz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Victor Gomes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldo Madureira's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute, Hermínio Gaspar sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Itajahy SC's Victor Gomes didn't even have to move. Edmundo de Brito hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Victor Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Madureira in the 38th minute of play. Cauã Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Victor Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cauã Nascimento in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victor Gomes saved Itajahy SC from getting behind. The supporters of Antiga FC booed when Itajahy SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osvaldo Madureira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Gomes having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kléber Rocha was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Itajahy SC's Victor Gomes got control of the ball when Cauã Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmundo de Brito during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Itajahy SC's Edmundo de Brito got a free kick in the 57th minute. Antiga FC's Hermínio Gaspar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Victor Gomes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 62 minutes, Reinaldo Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itajahy SC and the Antiga FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Reinaldo Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvério Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo Varela in the 65th minute of play. A collision led to Antiga FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Júlio Pontes hit a great ball. After 74 minutes of play, Antiga FC's Osvaldo Madureira made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victor Gomes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Victor Gomes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Reinaldo Varela might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvério Ortiz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinaldo Varela ran back to his position shaking his head. When Osvaldo Madureira came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Antiga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Madureira couldn't finish the play. Cauã Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victor Gomes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Edmundo de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 91 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Antiga FC's Osvaldo Madureira fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Victor Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Madureira in the 93rd minute of the match. The Antiga FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Antiga FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
