The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, Cabecinha's goalkeeper Samuel Marques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Percy Tinoco. 25 minutes into the match, Palestra Itália's Percy Tinoco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cabecinha's Edgard Araújo got a free kick in the 26th minute. After some careless play in the Cabecinha defense, Percy Tinoco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Marques. The Cabecinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Marques should have stopped the shot. If Percy Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 40 minutes, Breno Paes made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cabecinha's Samuel Marques tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Samuel Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléberson Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Breno Paes was the one to do the kick off. Breno Paes struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Samuel Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra Itália. With a little luck, Palestra Itália's Arlindo Dias got control of the ball when Fiori Veloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Paes in the 77th minute of play forced Cabecinha's goalkeeper Samuel Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cabecinha's zone, Percy Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Marques came out of the goal and Percy Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Léo Queirós took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Samuel Marques. Cabecinha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Samuel Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Paes in the 91st minute of play. Samuel Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breno Paes in the 92nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cabecinha's Baltazar Gonçalves got a free kick in the 95th minute.
