After a defensive mix-up in Itamaraca's zone, Hortêncio Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder Amaral came out of the goal and Hortêncio Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Itamaraca booed when Brejoes EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wanderson Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hélder Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardinho Paraense struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Natã Fantini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itamaraca. Hélder Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Viana in the 21st minute of play. Hortêncio Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Rafinha Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Amaral having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio Viana in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélder Amaral saved Itamaraca from getting behind. In the 31st minute, Rafinha Velloso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Rafinha Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brejoes EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafinha Velloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélder Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafinha Velloso in the 38th minute of play forced Itamaraca's goalkeeper Hélder Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélder Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafinha Velloso in the 40th minute of the match. After 41 minutes, Guga Pinheiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itamaraca and the Brejoes EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Itamaraca getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Guga Pinheiro hit a great ball. Claudinho Pitta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brejoes EC's Hortêncio Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hortêncio Viana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Hortêncio Viana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Itamaraca's Hélder Amaral got control of the ball when Rafinha Velloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hélder Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hortêncio Viana's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Brejoes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Moura came free, but Natã Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clemente Amorim hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Brejoes EC's Hortêncio Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafinha Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Hélder Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lenílson Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Ramiro Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Ramiro Moura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Natã Fantini was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Brejoes EC's Hortêncio Viana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hélder Amaral. That made the score 0-1 after 95 minutes of play. When the match was over Brejoes EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Itamaraca throughout the match.
