Rodeieiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dadá Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nilmar Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Dadá Corrêa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeremias de Sena. Chalana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dadá Corrêa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Rodeieiro's Mané Soeiro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mané Soeiro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Rodeieiro protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mané Soeiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rodeieiro fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! Dadá Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias de Sena having to interfere. Ulisses Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias de Sena having to interfere. Jeremias de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dadá Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dadá Corrêa to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Chalana's Jeremias de Sena got control of the ball when Dadá Corrêa tried to sneak it across the goal line. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 53rd minute, but Jeremias de Sena got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Chalana hanging dry this time. Claudinho Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Edson Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edson Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Tepedino in the 59th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Jonathan Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dadá Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Chalana booed when Rodeieiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Chalana fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rodeieiro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
