After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Renato Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ingleses's supporters rose to their feet, but Renato Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauro Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dinei Corrêa might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Pedro Meira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dinei Corrêa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th minute there was a penalty for Navegantes. Orlando Negri stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Pedro Meira. 0-3. Davi Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Meira having to interfere. In the 44thth minute of the game Davi Meireles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ingleses's José Pedro Meira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 47th minute, Orlando Negri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

After 60 minutes of play Navegantes's Aníbal de Lima was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Aníbal de Lima hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Patrick Mesquita struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Lauro Barral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ingleses. Natã Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. José Pedro Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Davi Meireles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of José Pedro Meira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 75 minutes, Davi Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Navegantes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davi Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Renato Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lauro Barral having to make a save. After 93 minutes, Edmílson Leme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Navegantes and the Ingleses players grew even worse after the yellow card. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
