A collision led to Juqueri SS getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. José Maria Queirós hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Nunes in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josué Travassos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gildo Mazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Flávio Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Rabicho getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Durval Cabral hit a great ball. Teodoro Reis hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Marcelo Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilherme Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Josué Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Márcio Soeiro got in the 43rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Flávio Machado handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. When Márcio Soeiro came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Juqueri SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio Soeiro couldn't finish the play. Marcelo Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Rabicho booed when Juqueri SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Juqueri SS's zone, Guilherme Cosme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué Travassos came out of the goal and Guilherme Cosme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 81 minutes into the match, Rabicho's Marcelo Nunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Josué Travassos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gildo Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
