The audience thought a goal was coming when Guilherme Cosme got free with Silas Neiva in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee showed Cláudio Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th minute, one of Pimenteiral:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pimenteiral. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jânio Fontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Jânio Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flávio Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Rabicho's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Fontes came free, but Flávio Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pimenteiral's Roger Dante got a free kick in the 61st minute. Flávio Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juninho Ceresso hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The supporters of Pimenteiral booed when Rabicho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Faustino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rabicho's Flávio Machado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Rabicho from getting a goal against them. After 86 minutes, Fred Faustino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rabicho and the Pimenteiral players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valdomiro Pinheiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flávio Machado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdomiro Pinheiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Rabicho's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
