In the 30th match minute, Taquaril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Perez to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Naru EC's Durvalino Sá dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 44th minute, Fausto Zanette had to leave the field with a concussion. When Sílvio Luís Prado fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Naru EC's protests and gave Sílvio Luís Prado a yellow card for diving instead. Sílvio Luís Prado hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sebastião Diniz to strike the kick off in the second half. Tiaguinho Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durvalino Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Afonso de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Durvalino Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiaguinho Miranda having to interfere. When Júlio de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Naru EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio de Souza couldn't finish the play. The Naru EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Taquaril were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
