The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isaltino Gerber showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Fojos's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Leite came free, but Isaltino Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elias de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Matias EC booed when Fojos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gugu Leite in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaltino Gerber saved Fojos from getting behind. Nico Quadros charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nico Quadros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Nico Quadros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gugu Leite was the one to do the kick off. When Custódio da Silva fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fojos's protests and gave Custódio da Silva a yellow card for diving instead.
