Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gugu Leite started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Matias EC's goalkeeper Thiago de Mendonça, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 8th minute, Matias EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sílvio Luiz Velloso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 10 minutes into the match, Matias EC's goalkeeper Thiago de Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Luiz Velloso. Percy Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute, one of Saubara SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Saubara SC. The referee gave Matias EC a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Artur Castro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Saubara SC's Carlos Fernando Teixeira. 0-1. Thiago de Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Sílvio Luiz Velloso sent off a good shot on target. Gugu Leite might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Fernando Teixeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gugu Leite ran back to his position shaking his head. Tião Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gugu Leite in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Fernando Teixeira saved Saubara SC from getting behind.

The wind increased when Percy Sá made the kick off in the second half. Percy Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago de Mendonça having to interfere. When Gugu Leite fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matias EC's protests and gave Gugu Leite a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Saubara SC booed when Matias EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Saubara SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Leite came free, but Carlos Fernando Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Sílvio Luiz Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Tião Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Luiz Velloso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago de Mendonça read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Vladimir Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Tião Prestes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Carlos Fernando Teixeira made a huge save. In the last second Carlos Fernando Teixeira throw himself and got hold of the ball when Gugu Leite in the 94thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After 95 played minutes Matias EC got a freekick which was hit by Artur Castro.
