Cléberson Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademir Madureira in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute, one of Galheiro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Galheiro. Raúl Penha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the game, one of Muruja SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Galheiro. Fernandinho Urbano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cléberson Lago. 1-1. When Tarcisio Martins fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muruja SS's protests and gave Tarcisio Martins a yellow card for diving instead. Tarcisio Martins hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. If Raúl Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato de Sena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Chiquinho de Carvalho made a huge save. Muruja SS's Deivid Cordeiro pulled a muscle in his back after 28 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jairo Reis's late challenge caught a Muruja SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cléberson Lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademir Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donato de Sena to strike the kick off in the second half.
