The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 minutes of play, S.E.C Guaratinguetá's Rogério Recife made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ezequiel Saldanha was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gernando Saldanha hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Rogério Recife's late challenge caught a Carabucu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rogério Recife helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute, Rogério Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute Rogério Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezequiel Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Recife took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ezequiel Saldanha. Ezequiel Saldanha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Ezequiel Saldanha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aníbal Rezende went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When S.E.C Guaratinguetá's Tiago Gabriel Breckenfeld in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carabucu's goalie prevented a goal. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Silvério Dionísio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute of the match João Francisco Vasconcelos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silvério Dionísio skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, S.E.C Guaratinguetá's Tiago Gabriel Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 58th minute. Tiago Gabriel Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagoberto Alvarenga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvério Dionísio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Rogério Recife reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ezequiel Saldanha. The goal made the score 1-4. In the 86thth minute of the game Tiago Gabriel Breckenfeld who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carabucu's Ezequiel Saldanha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.E.C Guaratinguetá's goalkeeper Silvério Dionísio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to S.E.C Guaratinguetá getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Aníbal Rezende hit a great ball. Aníbal Rezende was in a good position and ended up with the ball after S.E.C Guaratinguetá's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. Aníbal Rezende came free with the goalkeeper in the 97th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ezequiel Saldanha could save by the left post. The S.E.C Guaratinguetá supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing S.E.C Guaratinguetá would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
