The supporters of Mucaja booed when S.E.C Guaratinguetá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Saldanha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Rogério Recife got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40thth minute of the game Aníbal Rezende who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mucaja's Paulo Hoffmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rogério Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Hoffmann having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Aníbal Rezende cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Paulo Hoffmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

S.E.C Guaratinguetá's Rogério Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Hoffmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Recife in the 56th minute of play. Mucaja's Paulo Hoffmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Gabriel Breckenfeld in the 58th minute of play. Aníbal Rezende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Hoffmann having to interfere. Paulo Hoffmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernando Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogério Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Hoffmann having to interfere. Aníbal Rezende blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Hoffmann having to make a save. The audience was convinced that José Vítor Sampaio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvério Dionísio was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Aníbal Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Sampaio in the 78th minute of play forced S.E.C Guaratinguetá's goalkeeper Silvério Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.E.C Guaratinguetá's Rogério Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 89th minute of the match, Aníbal Rezende got a very nice opportunity to score, but Paulo Hoffmann was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Rogério Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E.C Guaratinguetá's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogério Recife was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Hoffmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mucaja succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though S.E.C Guaratinguetá had controlled the match.
