Iaunari's Juninho Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Loyola in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Loyola in the 25th minute of play forced Iaunari's goalkeeper Juninho Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Ricardo Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertinho Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel de Sena in the 28th minute of play forced Esporte Clube FR's goalkeeper Albertinho Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Álvaro Loyola in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juninho Correia saved Iaunari from getting behind. Mathias Veiga's late challenge caught a Esporte Clube FR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mathias Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. Mathias Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Esporte Clube FR's Celso Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Iaunari's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Godoi came free, but Juninho Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Celso Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute of the match, Celso Godoi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Juninho Correia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Celso Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juninho Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Álvaro Loyola who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Juninho Correia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celso Godoi in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juninho Correia saved Iaunari from getting behind. Paulo José Paraense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juninho Correia having to make a save. Noel de Sena struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Albertinho Botelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iaunari. In the 80th minute, Isaltino de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Álvaro Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juninho Correia didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 86th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Álvaro Loyolas short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Juninho Correia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Juninho Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Godoi in the 91st minute of the match. After 92 minutes of play, Esporte Clube FR's Álvaro Loyola made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juninho Correia was left in no man's land by his defense there!
