Fernando Veloso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Frederick Windum showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Narciso Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Fernando Veloso acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 24th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Maurinho de Almeida. Lauro Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mateusz Chuchro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Narciso Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Ortiz in the 28th minute of the match. Aleandro Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Oliveira having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Frederick Windum got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 40th minute, Rafael Santana made a precise shot to the right of Narciso Oliveira. Escola de Atletas do Azul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aleandro Simões to strike the kick off in the second half. Mateusz Chuchro hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute of the match Luiz Paulo Quaresma sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Narciso Oliveira skillfully saved the ball. Escola de Atletas do Azul's Frederick Windum got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernando Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederick Windum in the 59th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Ortiz got free with Narciso Oliveira in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 68 minutes into the match, Rafael Santana dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Narciso Oliveira, 1-3. With an all-out effort, Alvareda AD's Narciso Oliveira threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aleandro Simões, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Escola de Atletas do Azul getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Mateusz Chuchro hit a great ball. Escola de Atletas do Azul's Narciso Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aleandro Simões in the 82nd minute of play. If Frederick Windum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the game, Escola de Atletas do Azul's Frederick Windum nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernando Veloso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Fernando Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateusz Chuchro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Escola de Atletas do Azul booed when Alvareda AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lauro Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball.
