With a left leg Léo Montenegro saved Pyrenopolis FC from getting behind. Jânio Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Jânio Bertassi put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Léo Montenegro. Jânio Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Léo Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duda Hames kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Jânio Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paulas's supporters rose to their feet, but Jânio Bertassi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Léo Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute, Gilmar Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 31 minutes, Duda Hames mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pyrenopolis FC and the Paulas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pyrenopolis FC! 2-0 came through a penalty shot after 32 played minutes, when Paulas:s Yan Cardozo calmly waited for Pyrenopolis FC:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Pyrenopolis FC's Léo Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Bertassi in the 35th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Pyrenopolis FC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Costa. If Jânio Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes in the game, Gilmar Reis fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Léo Montenegro having to interfere. Gilmar Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Léo Montenegro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricardo Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Paulas got a freekick which was hit by Mário Meirelles. Pyrenopolis FC's Léo Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Bertassi in the 55th minute of play. Gilmar Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Montenegro having to interfere. Manuel Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pyrenopolis FC's zone, Gilmar Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léo Montenegro came out of the goal and Gilmar Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Reis in the 65th minute of play forced Pyrenopolis FC's goalkeeper Léo Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Gilvan Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Paulas booed when Pyrenopolis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jânio Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilmar Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Jânio Bertassi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Léo Montenegro. Pyrenopolis FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jânio Bertassi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. When Mário Meirelles fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paulas's protests and gave Mário Meirelles a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Paulas's Mário Meirelles got a free kick in the 78th minute. The audience was convinced that Jânio Bertassi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Léo Montenegro was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 85th match minute, Pyrenopolis FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magno Carioca to maneuver through the defense. Paulas's Jânio Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jânio Bertassi struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Léo Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paulas. When the referee ended the match the Paulas players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
