The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilmar Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Bezerra having to interfere. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inambu SS's goalkeeper Dudu Bezerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Jânio Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Paulas's Jânio Bertassi in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inambu SS's goalie prevented a goal. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inambu SS's goalkeeper Dudu Bezerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulas's attack was well implemented in the 33rd minute, but when Jânio Bertassi was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 35th match minute, Paulas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geraldo da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. Jânio Bertassi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Gilmar Reis notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Inambu SS's Dudu Bezerra. Dudu Bezerra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gilmar Reis struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Dudu Bezerra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paulas. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alessandro Ramalho was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Alessandro Ramalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonardo Aparecido was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The supporters of Inambu SS booed when Paulas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 played minutes, Inambu SS's Fabiano Mendonça shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonardo Aparecido came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Inambu SS reached it. A collision led to Inambu SS getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Ulisses Baptista hit a great ball. Jânio Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Bezerra having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Inambu SS got a freekick which was hit by Enio da Costa. Gilmar Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Dudu Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabiano Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Ulisses Baptista notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Paulas's Leonardo Aparecido. Leonardo Aparecido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jânio Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dudu Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio Bertassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Rubens Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inambu SS's protests and gave Rubens Maranhense a yellow card for diving instead. Fabiano Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 96th minute.
