Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luiz Eduardo Paraíba kicked off to start the match. Horácio de Medeiros hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Doriva Quaresma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Galvão in the 7th minute of the match. A collision led to Saguoes getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cássio Alagoano hit a great ball. If Luiz Eduardo Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serginho Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Doriva Quaresma came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Saguoes's Cássio Alagoano. But to his dismay, Cássio Alagoano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Cássio Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Doriva Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cássio Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serginho Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luiz Eduardo Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Saguoes's Serginho Galvão in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mataruna's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half Saguoes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Serginho Galvão made a kick off. A collision led to Saguoes getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Oséias Souto hit a great ball. Wanderson Prata, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Mataruna's goalkeeper Doriva Quaresma had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Alagoano. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mataruna's goalkeeper Doriva Quaresma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Doriva Quaresma stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serginho Galvão's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. If Luiz Eduardo Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Eduardo Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio Alagoano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Doriva Quaresma when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Doriva Quaresma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Galvão in the 70th minute of the match. Rodolfo Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Mário Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doriva Quaresma was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Pedro Cavalcante. Júlio Xavier hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Serginho Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saguoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serginho Galvão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Júlio Xavier's late challenge caught a Saguoes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Xavier helped the player get up and apologised. After 83 played minutes Mataruna got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Xavier. Cássio Alagoanos short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Doriva Quaresma to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 86 minutes into the match, Mataruna's goal looked a bit too open when Serginho Galvão came free, but Doriva Quaresma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Saguoes's Oséias Souto got a free kick in the 90th minute. After 95 minutes of play Mataruna's Júlio Xavier was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 97th minute, Pedro Cavalcante sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mataruna's Doriva Quaresma didn't even have to move. The Mataruna manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Saguoes to win.
