Jarbas de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. João Pedro Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. João Pedro Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Massa in the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Luís Fernando Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernani Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edson Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Sidnei Vander fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itapira's protests and gave Sidnei Vander a yellow card for diving instead. Sidnei Vander kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. A collision led to Cururipe getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Edson Bezerra hit a great ball. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cururipe! Romeu Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cururipe's zone, Rui Massa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Pedro Fernandes came out of the goal and Rui Massa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dida Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dida Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dida Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Romeu Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarbas de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Murillo Baptista got free with João Pedro Fernandes in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ernani Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fernando Ferreira in the 43rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edson Bezerra in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernani Diniz saved Itapira from getting behind. In the 46th minute, Jonathan Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Edson Bezerra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cururipe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rui Massa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rui Massa took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Pedro Fernandes. João Pedro Fernandes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murillo Baptista in the 57th minute of play forced Cururipe's goalkeeper João Pedro Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Pedro Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murillo Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 60 minutes, Murillo Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murillo Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edson Bezerra's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 68thth minute, Ernani Diniz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 70th minute, Rui Massa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luís Fernando Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cururipe's João Pedro Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murillo Baptista in the 82nd minute of play. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cururipe's goalkeeper João Pedro Fernandes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Murillo Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. João Pedro Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rui Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Murillo Baptista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Pedro Fernandes was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Murillo Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapira's supporters rose to their feet, but Murillo Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Pedro Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 96 minutes into the game, Jarbas de Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cururipe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itapira the free kick. In the 96th minute, Jarbas de Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 99th minute Itapira were awarded a corner. Gualter Mesquita went to the cornerflag to take it. Itapira's Gualter Mesquita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but João Pedro Fernandes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
