In the 4thth minute of the game Rodolfo Mesquita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Abobora FC's Zeca Arce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zeca Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarcisio Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. When Catadupas's Tarcisio Marques in 8 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Zeca Arce guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Zeca Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Tarcisio Marques put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Zeca Arce. Cesinha Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Abobora FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Armindo Nóbrega hit a great ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Betinho Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catadupas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tarcisio Marques might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeca Arce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tarcisio Marques ran back to his position shaking his head. Rodolfo Mesquita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Tarcisio Marques came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Catadupas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tarcisio Marques couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Tarcisio Marques put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Zeca Arce. In the 34th minute Osvaldinho Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Rodolfo Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tarcisio Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Arce having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Osvaldinho Pena to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tarcisio Marques in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeca Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Abobora FC booed when Catadupas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Abobora FC's zone, Rodolfo Mesquita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeca Arce came out of the goal and Rodolfo Mesquita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, one of Catadupas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Catadupas. In the 80th minute there was a penalty for Abobora FC. Laércio Mattos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving André Pires. 1-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tarcisio Marques in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeca Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 84 minutes into the match, Abobora FC's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Cearense came free, but Zeca Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
