Hamílton Soares might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Machado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamílton Soares ran back to his position shaking his head. After 18 played minutes Florescencia SS got a freekick which was hit by Doni Garcia. In the 21stth minute of the game Caio Valadares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Florescencia SS's Paulo Machado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Florescencia SS getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Samuca de Andrade hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Caio Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Doni Garcia hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The supporters of Florescencia SS booed when Athletico Paranauense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Alberto Peres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Cardozo in the 31st minute of the match. Caio Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Machado having to interfere. The supporters of Athletico Paranauense booed when Florescencia SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caio Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Paulo Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florescencia SS's Paulo Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caio Valadares in the 45th minute of play. A hard, long distance shot from Fabiano Pombal flew over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Caio Valadares to make the kick off. Jaime Alagoano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Athletico Paranauense getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Cauan Azevedo hit a great ball. With 65 minutes on the clock, Enéas Camargo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, Athletico Paranauense's Enéas Camargo got a free kick in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Athletico Paranauense's zone, Luisinho Cardozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Alberto Peres came out of the goal and Luisinho Cardozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caio Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Florescencia SS's goalkeeper Paulo Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hamílton Soares. The attack was good, but when Caio Valadares in the 78th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Florescencia SS getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Denílson Mandrak hit a great ball. Paulo Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caio Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 87 minutes into the game, Caio Valadares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Paulo Machado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caio Valadares in the 91st minute of play forced Florescencia SS's goalkeeper Paulo Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Athletico Paranauense's Caio Valadares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paulo Machado. Paulo Machado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2.
