With an all-out effort, Bangu AD's Yan Matos threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kléber Chaves, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Zé Pedro da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléber Chaves was extremely unlucky when he, in the 6th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Zé Pedro da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Carovi EC's zone, Kléber Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yan Matos came out of the goal and Kléber Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandrinho da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Hortêncio de Azevedo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After 30 minutes, Gino Faria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carovi EC and the Bangu AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gino Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Zé Pedro da Silveira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Yan Matos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 34 minutes into the match, Bangu AD's Kléber Chaves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yan Matos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Davi Severo in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandrinho da Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute Matías Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléber Chaves in the 38th minute of play forced Carovi EC's goalkeeper Yan Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matías Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Sandrinho da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Luís Fernando Moreira charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sandrinho da Costa. In the 81st minute, Matías Albuquerque fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Davi Severo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Carovi EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 88th minute, Kléber Chaves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bangu AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Eliézer do Nascimento charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliézer do Nascimento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute, Eliézer do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Carovi EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
