Kléber Chaves struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Luís Fabiano Sampaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bangu AD. A collision led to Bangu AD getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Tiago Gabriel Neves hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kléber Chaves in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Fabiano Sampaio saved Sozinho SS from getting behind. Luís Fabiano Sampaio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Pedro da Silveira's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. An unexpected shot in the 14th minute by Bernardinho Sarmento got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Vasconcelos got free with Sandrinho da Costa in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute of the match Sozinho SS got a corner. Bangu AD's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luizinho de Souza ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sozinho SS's Serginho Lago was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sandrinho da Costa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Yan Fontes came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Sozinho SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yan Fontes couldn't finish the play. In the 30th match minute, Bangu AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Alves to maneuver through the defense. Bernardinho Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandrinho da Costa having to interfere. A hard shot 35 in the game by Júlio Vasconcelos from a close distance when the talented Sandrinho da Costa managed to make a qualified save. Bangu AD's players were relieved. The audience was convinced that Zé Pedro da Silveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Fabiano Sampaio was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Luís Fabiano Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléber Chaves, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Bernardinho Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kléber Chaves made a kick off. Bangu AD's Kléber Chaves got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute Kléber Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fabiano Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th match minute, Sozinho SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano de Sena to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléber Chaves in the 56th minute of play forced Sozinho SS's goalkeeper Luís Fabiano Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the game, César Alves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bangu AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sozinho SS the free kick. The supporters of Sozinho SS booed when Bangu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandrinho da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Vasconcelos in the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Vasconcelos in the 65th minute of play forced Bangu AD's goalkeeper Sandrinho da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Bangu AD getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. César Alves hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bangu AD's zone, Júlio Vasconcelos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandrinho da Costa came out of the goal and Júlio Vasconcelos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 71 minutes into the game, Luís Fernando Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bangu AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sozinho SS the free kick. Sozinho SS's Luizinho de Souza couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bangu AD. Bernardinho Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
