Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gino Paraíba started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd play minute Pedrão Jacinto came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Raphael Donato. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Carvalho in the 6th minute of play forced Veredao's goalkeeper Raí Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raí Leite came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by São Paulo Luz's João Francisco Branco. But to his dismay, João Francisco Branco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Thomás Fontes, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 12 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Raí Leite was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Raí Leite stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomás Fontes's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, Veredao's Eduardo Cearense got a free kick in the 15th minute. Raphael Donato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gino Paraíba in the 17th minute of play. Raphael Donato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Paraíba in the 19th minute of the match. If Pedrão Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, São Paulo Luz's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Paraíba came free, but Raphael Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, São Paulo Luz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Valadares to maneuver through the defense. Raphael Donato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 1-2 became the score in the 26th minute when João Francisco Branco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Raphael Donato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Paraíba in the 29th minute of the match. If Gino Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to São Paulo Luz getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Thomás Fontes hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Veredao's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Valadares came free, but Raí Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If João Francisco Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that João Francisco Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raí Leite was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Raí Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Valadares in the 46th minute of the match. The Veredao players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. São Paulo Luz were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Francisco Branco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomás Fontes in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raí Leite saved Veredao from getting behind. São Paulo Luz's Augusto Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sandro Carvalhos short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Raí Leite to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sandro Carvalho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Raí Leite firmly grabbed it by the left post. Anísio Amorim's late challenge caught a Veredao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anísio Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, São Paulo Luz's Anísio Amorim got a free kick in the 68th minute. Raí Leite made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Augusto Valadares sent off a good shot on target. Raí Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Francisco Branco in the 77th minute of the match. Raphael Donato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Jacinto in the 79th minute of play. In the 82nd minute Pedrão Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raphael Donato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raphael Donato came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Veredao's Eduardo Cearense. But to his dismay, Eduardo Cearense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Paraíba in the 88th minute of play forced São Paulo Luz's goalkeeper Raphael Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raphael Donato didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedrão Jacinto went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. São Paulo Luz's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
