Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nilson Loyola got the match started through his kick off. Geovani Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Valladares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Augusto Velloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcelinho Valladares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcelinho Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Augusto Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelinho Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Velloso having to interfere. Pedro Augusto Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Anhemby's Geovani Carioca in 32 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Augusto Velloso guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 36th minute, Marcelinho Valladares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Robinho Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 48 minutes, Geovani Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anhemby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovani Carioca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Anhemby were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelinho Valladares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Anhemby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Trigo to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Mutuca's José Pedro Negri tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Tarcisio Bueno fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Anhemby's protests and gave Tarcisio Bueno a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Anhemby's Tarcisio Bueno got a free kick in the 56th minute. Pedro Augusto Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Christian Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Linhares in the 60th minute of play. In the 61stth minute of the game Marcelinho Valladares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mutuca's Augusto Velloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geovani Carioca in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Augusto Velloso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Mutuca's zone, Marcelinho Valladares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Velloso came out of the goal and Marcelinho Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Marcelinho Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovani Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Velloso having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Nilson Loyola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anhemby's Christian Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Augusto Linhares in the 93rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Geovani Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Anhemby's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovani Carioca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Anhemby booed when Mutuca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anhemby played a much better game than Mutuca and deserved their victory. The Mutuca players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
