The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Richard Porto fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abertao's protests and gave Richard Porto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Abertao getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Richard Porto hit a great ball. Rodolfo Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cícero Amaral in the 9th minute of the match. When Cavalcante F. C.'s Cícero Amaral in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Toninho Bertassi made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Samuel Rossi sent off a good shot on target. Cavalcante F. C.'s Toninho Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Porto in the 31st minute of play. After 31 played minutes Cavalcante F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Durval Lucas. Sandro de Souza hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 35thth minute of the game Cícero Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Abertao's Rodolfo Meira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zé Pedro Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amadeu Marques got free with Toninho Bertassi in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cícero Amaral made a kick off.
