Waldemar Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Patrick Quintal might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armandinho Maranhense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patrick Quintal ran back to his position shaking his head. José Pedro Sampaio hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Edinho Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Armandinho Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Eduardo Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Luís Eduardo Duarte struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Armandinho Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uberaba SC. In the 35th minute, Luís Eduardo Duarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Patrick Quintal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armandinho Maranhense. Morgado's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrick Quintal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 43rd minute of the match Dito da Mata sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armandinho Maranhense skillfully saved the ball. Armandinho Maranhense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Eduardo Duarte's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hílton Lucas to make the kick off. If Hílton Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Rodolfo Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morgado's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Braga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Túlio Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albertino Tinoco hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Morgado's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Luís Eduardo Duarte scored to the left of an out of position Armandinho Maranhense, making the score, 0-2. Luís Eduardo Duarte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Uberaba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Hílton Lucas came free, but Túlio Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Uberaba SC's zone, Rodolfo Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Túlio Cardozo came out of the goal and Rodolfo Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Patrick Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
