Cafu Pernambucano came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Piquira SS's Ademar Montenegro. But to his dismay, Ademar Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Piquira SS's Ademar Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cafu Pernambucano made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Ademar Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piquira SS's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Cardozo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Laércio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laércio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Caranaiba booed when Piquira SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laércio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caranaiba's Cafu Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jefferson Nogueira in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Caranaiba booed when Piquira SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laércio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erivaldo Faustino, 40 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rodriguinho Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Leão in the 42nd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the game, Mário Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caranaiba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piquira SS the free kick. After 44 played minutes Caranaiba got a freekick which was hit by Mário Brito. After having played for 48 minutes, Ademar Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piquira SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademar Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jefferson Nogueira in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cafu Pernambucano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Walmyr Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Caranaiba booed when Piquira SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laércio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Piquira SS's Rodriguinho Cardozo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Piquira SS from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Caranaiba booed when Piquira SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laércio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Piquira SS's zone, Walmyr Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodriguinho Cardozo came out of the goal and Walmyr Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Basílio da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodriguinho Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Leão in the 78th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ademar Montenegro during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ademar Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Cafu Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edvaldo da Cunha in the 94th minute of the match. After having played for 96 minutes, Basílio da Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caranaiba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio da Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Piquira SS's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
