The audience was convinced that Eliseu Goiano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodriguinho Cardozo was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. In the 21st minute Jefferson Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ademar Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the game, Piquira SS's Jefferson Nogueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivo Fontes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. With a little luck, Lombas SC's Ivo Fontes got control of the ball when Ademar Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseu Goiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodriguinho Cardozo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseu Goiano in the 35th minute of play forced Piquira SS's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Lombas SC's Eliseu Goiano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodriguinho Cardozo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Jefferson Nogueira made the kick off in the second half. Piquira SS were furious when Nicolas Martins was red carded, 54 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When Albertinho Barros came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Lombas SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertinho Barros couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laércio Costa during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Piquira SS getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Laércio Costa hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Albertinho Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lombas SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertinho Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dalmo Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Albertinho Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antônio Carlos Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Albertinho Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Rodriguinho Cardozo made a huge save. Eliseu Goiano struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Rodriguinho Cardozo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lombas SC.
