Maurinho Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Leão in the 15th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, PEGARU FC's Hugo Peres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cafu Pernambucano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mário Brito hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, PEGARU FC's José Maria Catarinense tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Carlos Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Cafu Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cafu Pernambucano having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Peres in the 31st minute of play forced Caranaiba's goalkeeper Cafu Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 played minutes Caranaiba got a freekick which was hit by Américo Pimenta. The supporters of PEGARU FC booed when Caranaiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Américo Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Brodel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Cafu Pernambucano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cafu Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mário Brito hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamílton de Queiroz during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hamílton de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Carlos Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Cafu Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurinho Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Leão in the 45th minute of the match. When João Vítor Jacinto fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PEGARU FC's protests and gave João Vítor Jacinto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to PEGARU FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. João Vítor Jacinto hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugo Peres was the one to do the kick off. PEGARU FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by José Maria Catarinense in the 56th minute. After taking down the ball on PEGARU FC's corner José Maria Catarinense fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cafu Pernambucano quite easily take care of the ball. After 58 minutes of play, PEGARU FC's Hugo Peres made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cafu Pernambucano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Caranaiba's Cafu Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Brodel in the 61st minute of play. Basílio da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to PEGARU FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. João Vítor Jacinto hit a great ball. Hugo Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cafu Pernambucano having to interfere. Hugo Peres struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Cafu Pernambucano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PEGARU FC. If Carlos Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Cafu Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Peres in the 85th minute of play forced Caranaiba's goalkeeper Cafu Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugo Peres in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cafu Pernambucano saved Caranaiba from getting behind. Cafu Pernambucano came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by PEGARU FC's Carlos Brodel. But to his dismay, Carlos Brodel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.
