Basu EC's Fabrício Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Basu EC from getting a goal against them. If Hortêncio Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Betuli FC defense, Hortêncio Catarinense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ismael Amorim. The Betuli FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismael Amorim should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute of the match Kiko Xavier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ismael Amorim skillfully saved the ball. Amadeu Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ismael Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 23 minutes, Hortêncio Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Basu EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hortêncio Catarinense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Basu EC's Fabrício Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Hermes in the 27th minute of play. After 30 played minutes, Basu EC's Rômulo Travassos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ismael Amorim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Basu EC reached it. 30 minutes into the game, Eusébio Hermes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Betuli FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Basu EC the free kick. Basu EC's Joaquim Miranda was substituted for Gil Prata. After 31 played minutes Betuli FC got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Hermes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hortêncio Catarinense in the 33rd minute of play forced Betuli FC's goalkeeper Ismael Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35thth minute of the game Hortêncio Catarinense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Betuli FC's Ismael Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquim Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute of the match Kiko Xavier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ismael Amorim skillfully saved the ball. 43 minutes into the game, Basu EC's Joaquim Miranda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ismael Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After the first half Basu EC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Faustão do Vale to strike the kick off in the second half. Rômulo Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 62 minutes of play Basu EC's Joaquim Miranda was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Joaquim Miranda hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute Faustão do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74 minutes, Hortêncio Catarinense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Basu EC and the Betuli FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Hortêncio Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Betuli FC defense, Albertinho Valle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ismael Amorim. The Betuli FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismael Amorim should have stopped the shot. Ismael Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hortêncio Catarinense went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Albertinho Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basu EC's Hortêncio Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Marquez made in the 88th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Basu EC's Fernando Maranhense. 91 minutes in the game Afonso Marquez did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rafael Brodel. In the 93rd minute, Benjamim Nascimento made a precise shot to the right of Fabrício Barros. Basu EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. In the 96th match minute, Basu EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Dante to maneuver through the defense.
