Cristiano Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Gil Prata sent off a good shot on target. Basu EC's Gil Prata got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carnaibas's Cristiano Cardoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Carnaibas from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute, Gil Prata fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cristiano Cardoso, passed just outside the right post. The Basu EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Carnaibas were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hortêncio Catarinense to make the kick off. Wanderson Saraiva charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wanderson Saraiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd match minute, Carnaibas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wanderson Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Basu EC booed when Carnaibas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizinho Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristiano Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Catarinense in the 58th minute of the match. Gil Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Cristiano Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Hortêncio Catarinense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Cristiano Cardoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hortêncio Catarinense scored 2-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristiano Cardoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hortêncio Catarinense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristiano Cardoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 75th minute of the match, Wanderson Saraiva got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fabrício Barros was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cristiano Cardoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hortêncio Catarinense's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Cristiano Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hortêncio Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gil Prata struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Cristiano Cardoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Basu EC.
