Dedé Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Augusto Lucas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Eduardo Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Paraíba having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Iborepi's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro de Amorim came free, but Dagoberto Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that João Pedro de Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dagoberto Paraíba was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Iborepi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vágner Ferraz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Pedro de Amorim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iborepi's Dagoberto Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pedro de Amorim in the 57th minute of play. After 58 played minutes Porto Seguro F.C got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Tinoco. Luiz Eduardo Machado's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Dagoberto Paraíba skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 70 minutes, Giuseppe da Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iborepi and the Porto Seguro F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 85 played minutes Iborepi got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Garcia. Vágner Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Dedé Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Rodriguinho Sampaio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vágner Ferraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedé Cavalcante having to interfere.
