The Serra Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Nildo Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adalmo Bastos hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute of the match Armandinho Vasconcelos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elias de Queirós skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Cavaidaruco EC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Osvaldinho Varela hit a great ball. When Armandinho Vasconcelos fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Serra Futebol Clube's protests and gave Armandinho Vasconcelos a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Cavaidaruco EC's Adalmo Bastos got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 27 played minutes, Serra Futebol Clube's Abelardo Prata shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elias de Queirós came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Serra Futebol Clube reached it. Elias de Queirós made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Válter Santos sent off a good shot on target. Válter Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias de Queirós having to interfere. Nildo Rodrigues who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Elias de Queirós when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nildo Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias de Queirós having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Serra Futebol Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cavaidaruco EC.
