The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kiko Fernandes during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Cavaidaruco EC. Cristóvão Rezende stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Willian Hermes. 0-1. In the 12th match minute, Cavaidaruco EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalmo Bastos to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Alberto da Cunha struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Elias de Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pindobal FC. 25 minutes into the game, Osvaldinho Varela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cavaidaruco EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pindobal FC the free kick. In the 25th match minute, Cavaidaruco EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldinho Varela to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Cavaidaruco EC's goalkeeper Elias de Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramiro Massa. After 30 played minutes Cavaidaruco EC got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldinho Varela. A hard shot by Sydney Passos from long distance, 32 minutes into the match, got Elias de Queirós's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Edvaldo Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Willian Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Cavaidaruco EC's Cristóvão Rezende broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 39 minutes into the game, Pedro Luís Paraibano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cavaidaruco EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pindobal FC the free kick. Pedro Luís Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. With his leg Elias de Queirós managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Pindobal FC's Ramiro Massa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 42nd minute Edvaldo Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willian Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Waldemar Eger to strike the kick off in the second half. When Osvaldinho Varela was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 52 minutes had been played. The audience was convinced that Carlos Alberto da Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elias de Queirós was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Waldemar Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Carlos Alberto da Cunha struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Edvaldo Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Alberto da Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edvaldo Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Willian Hermes made a huge save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cavaidaruco EC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
