With his leg Doni Mangueira managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Cururupe's Luizão Amorim fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Almir Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Frank de Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Almir Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Almir Brito in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frank de Castro saved Cururupe from getting behind. Almir Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank de Castro having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Naldo Corrêa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Doni Mangueira. Naldo Corrêa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 19 minutes into the match, Cururupe's goal looked a bit too open when Ernani Ramalho came free, but Frank de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Almir Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Cururupe's Renatinho Rodrigues got a free kick in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Cururupe's goal looked a bit too open when Almir Brito came free, but Frank de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almir Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank de Castro having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Naldo Corrêa to make the kick off. Ernani Ramalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Frank de Castro made a huge save. Frank de Castro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernani Ramalho went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Almir Brito struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Frank de Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maracaja. After 63 minutes, Luiz Fabiano Paraense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cururupe and the Maracaja players grew even worse after the yellow card. Délio Palmeira shot a long shot in the 64th minute and a light blocked Frank de Castro hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-2. Naldo Corrêa scored 2-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doni Mangueira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Doni Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Amorim in the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cururupe's goalkeeper Frank de Castro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Almir Brito in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frank de Castro saved Cururupe from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernani Ramalho got free with Frank de Castro in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 87 played minutes Almir Brito could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 2-3 into the left cross. Almir Brito struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Frank de Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maracaja.
